The Warrior’s Under 6 Gold travelled to McKeachie’s Run on Saturday to take on the Red Dogs. Playing with only 6 players the boys once again tried hard and played some great footy. The team, made up of Jordan Longbottom, Albie Dew, Billy Hinton, Jack Byron, Kobie Jolly and Harkley Hawes all ran the ball well and tackled well against a much bigger West Maitland team. Try scorers were Jordan Longbottom and Albie Dew. Well done boys see you at training. Matt Hinton
Dungog Under 6 Gold played their first competition game at Bennett Park vs Kurri Kurri. The boys had great fun and showed plenty of enthusiasm and discipline for a team playing their first game. Harley Hawes started the boys off with some great hard running and managed to score a try of his own. Charlie Lovegrove and Billy Hinton made some good legs tackles during the game and they also scored their first ever tries. Quietly spoken Kobi Jolly and Jordan Longbottom let their footy do all of their talking both crossing under the sticks from long range. Izayah Haigh once again made some great bootlace tackles and scored a great runaway try. Jack Byron soldiered on through sickness to get over the strip for a try as well as making some good tackles. All in all I was very happy with the boys efforts in their first game , with all seven players on the paddock scoring a try each, it will do their confidence the world of good. Go the Warriors, Matt Hinton Coach
On Saturday we travelled to Kurri Kurri to take on the bulldogs. Kurri scored in the first 5 minutes with some uncommon missed tackles from the Warriors. Following the restart, we had some great runs up field where Connor Hannan dived over from dummy half. Kurri scored pretty much straight away with a run up the sideline & the Bulldog’s player was too quick for our defence. Just before half time Cooper Gorton crashed his way over the line using all his strength carrying nearly the whole team over with him. At half time we were trailing 12 – 10. The second half started well when Tom Lovegrove kicking the ball dead from the restart, resulting in a goal line drop out. This was the turning point as our boys kicked into gear, running in 8 tries & kicking 6 goals in the final 17 minutes. With Taylor Hunt 2, Tom Lovegrove, Jacob Duck, Darcy Mackay, Isaac Edwards & Finley Stevenson crossing the line for tries. These tries were all made possible through the efforts of Charlie Boorer, Mia Finch, Nick Baker & Connor Beisler tackling their hearts out in defence & excellent work off the ball. Their defence for the entire second half was absolutely outstanding. There wasn’t one standout player the whole game, there were 13 standouts. With their first 3 games being comprehensive wins, the kids have been re-graded into first division, which will be a challenge, but a challenge Im sure they will handle quite well. Great work boys & girl. See you at training on Tuesday. Kenneth Gorton
Dungog Under 10s travelled to Greta on Saturday to play a very mobile Cessnock side. Cessnock started the game with three quick tries from their very quick & big front rower. As soon as the boys realised the bigger they are, the harder they fall, the tide quickly turned. With some great ball movement from Tom Lovegrove, Finley Stevenson, Darcy Mackay & Taylor Hunt, they started to pour on the points. Cooper Gorton, Isaac Edwards, Charlie Boorer, Connor Beisler & Connor Hannan led the way upfront with excellent straight, hard running & very physical defence. Mia Finch, Nick Baker, Harry Parish, Jacob Duck & Luke Kemp tackled their hearts out to keep the opposition scoreless in the second half. We came away with a 34 – 14 win. The way these kids defended on their own try line was unbelievable. Even the opposition supporters applauded them. Try scorers were Darcy, Harry, Tom, Cooper, Charlie & Isaac with Tom, Cooper, Charlie, Connor H & Taylor Hunt kicking goals. Kenneth Gorton

Playing with only 1 reserve & 3 kids that have never played before the team played well above all expectations & came away with a win with a score of 36 – 6. Our team consists of Darcy Mackay, Mia Finch, Nick Baker, Luke Kemp, Harry Parish, Fin Stevenson, Tom Lovegrove, Cooper Gorton, Taylor Hunt, Connor Beisler, Charlie Boorer Jacob Duck & Connor Hannan. Try scorers were Tom 3, Darcy, Cooper, Harry & Fin. With Tom, Cooper, Darcy & Fin kicking goals. Great effort boys & girl !!!
