The Under 6s Maroons played their first big game of rugby league at Bennett Park on Saturday morning and again acquitted themselves well in trying conditions. Dane Chivers and Darcy Hookes had their best running games of the year whilst James Ross ,Jacob Black and Logan Power show marked improvement each week. Ethan Tymkiw,Tyler Russell and Riley Neilson showed willingness to tackle in a good performance from the boys who are gaining confidence each week .If the boys keep showing the same enthusiasm each week at training and on the field they will continue to enjoy the game as much as those watching do. The Warriors Under 6 Maroon team travelled to Ashtonfield to play East Maitland on Saturday. After a quick warm up the boys took to the field and showed a marked improvement in their game. Tyler, Ethan, Riley and Logan were all good in attack, whilst Darcy, Dane, and Jacob got involved in all facets of the game. The standout player this week was James Ross, who showed that size doesn’t limit determination as he took on the bigger players all day, well done James. See you at training. Stephen Neilson
The Dungog Under 6 Maroon side had their first ever game of rugby league against Thornton Beresfield on Saturday morning. The boys enjoyed the game and will be better for the experience in weeks to come. Ethan Tymwik showed good skills whilst the Stroud connection of Logan Powers and James Ross played well. Dane Chivers , Riley Neilson and Jacob Black also showed pleasing glimpses of form and will improve with confidence. Tyler Russell was the star player in the opening game for the boys as he scored three tries and tackled strongly. All in all coach Adam can be heartened by the boy’s enthusiasm and we look forward to further improvement.
